Jobs Not Starting when scheduled from axsched.exe or mm_schedule_event

I need a solution

When a job is scheduled from axsched.exe or mm_schedule_event stored procedure it doesn't kick off based on the schedule. Whether the schedule is in the past or in the future. The job is created but the status is blank. I have to refresh the console in order for it to start. Our application and database are separated, so it's almost like some type of trigger isn't happening. Has anyone seen this?

Dear All,

What is the process to install any software from altiris server.

What is the requirement from that software side?

What is the configuration

Altiris 7.1 server corrupted, deploying new 7.5 server questions.

I need a solution

Our 7.1 server is no longer running, and we wouldn't be able to bring it back without doing a re-install.  What I'd like to do is forgo that and move directly to a clean 7.5 installation.  However I'm concerned about the clients connecting to a new server.

Can I install 7.5 and use the same IP and name as my old server and expect the clients to connect?
Should I use a new name and IP and use AD to point the current clients to the new server?

What's the best way to deploy 7.5 to 7.1 clients when the 7.1 server is gone?

Thank you all for your suggestions and help!

SOI for Windows 7 Pro fails when Install Drivers from Driver DB option is used

I need a solution

I have Altiris CMS 7.5 HF3. I'm trying to run a SOI for Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64. I am using PXE and a preDefined computer. The PC will boot and load WinPE x64 from the PXE server/site server on my VLAN. I can see the Deployanywhere process run but then nothing else will run. The PC will stay stuck on the Symantec wallpaper until I power it off.

If I run this process without the Install Drivers from DB option on the SOI task it will successfully install Windows 7.

Attached are the log files from the X: boot drive.

Any suggestons?

My server is also configured for CEM (still working on getting that configured)

And I can capture and deploy ghost images.

I need a solution

Hi,

My company is currently using Altiris DS 7.1.

I'm trying to deploy an image to a computer which doesn't have an OS installed. When I booted it to PXE, the initial deployment menu is supposed to be showing up, but it didn't. The computer booted to PXE successfully, and got minint-vp0atg4 as its computer name, then nothing happened. There is another thing I want to point out, the computer(minint-vp0atg4) could not be found in DS console.

I looked for some solutions on the internet, but none of them worked for me.

I tried to stop the SBS services, and deleted all files from SBS store folder, and then restarted SBS services. I also tried to run the resource memebership update. It still didn't work.

I'm very new to Altiris DS. Could anyone tell me if I was doing something wrong? Thanks.

DS 6.9 missing items in tools menu

I need a solution

i am trying to finish a few more tasks using DS but am having issues with it.  according to this thread  DS shouldn't stop working once the maintenance expires.  Well it expired a few days ago and i'm noticing a few weird issues.

- in the console, under the tools menu, everything specified in ATOOLS.INI is completely missing.

- the imageinvoker add-on service starts then immediately stops.  windows tries to be helpful and tells me some services will stop if they aren't in use by other programs or services.

i can't find any sort of option to disable the console from using the atools.ini. i've restarted all the altiris services on this box (2008r2) but it didn't help.

even before maintenance expired, we were having issues with predefined computers randomly showing up in the all computers list for no apparent reason, as well as duplicate computer names showing up.  i unchecked MAC as a primary lookup per symantec's recommendation but it only helped a little.  right now it's set to UUID and serial number.

i just want to image a couple more machines with DS before it gets shut down, but it's proving to be much more of a problem than it should be.

Deploy image Return code 1 after Ghost

I need a solution

We are running Symantec Management Console 7.1.8400. I created a Windows 7 32Bit Image. I am using Deploy image with the following options:

1) Image name

2) Product key

3) Include DeployAnywhere checked

4) Generate Sysprep configuration file using inventory data

5) have Credentials with full Active Directory rights.

We have 6 site servers. The task is failing on one with a return code 1 after the ghost completes.

If I uncheck Include DeployAnywhere, ghost completes tasks completes with a return code 0.

Any ideas what is happening?

Is there some place to go to see what Return Code 1 and other return codes mean?

I have an Altiris DS for Dell 3.2 MR2 solution. The Deployment console seems recognized the Dell PowerEdge R720 server running Linux 5.10 because the console display the server in the computer pane. The console shown no progress/status/error message when I  run a simple script. Am I missing something or the solution doesn't support R720? If so, how can I get around or any other alternatives? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I'm really struggling to get the NIC working for this machine in WINPE 4.0. I've added the drivers supplied by the manufacturer for Win7 x86, Win7 x64 and Win8 x64 but still the NIC is not picked up in WINPE either x86 or x64. Can anyone point me in the right direction for this? I can attach the drivers I have downloaded to this ticket if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon,

I am trying to find out why my Quick Delivery of Software is failing over and over again but it still manages to install the application.  It takes less than 10 secs to install but at the end of the task it fails.  Anyone have any clue?  Below is a log I extracted from a PC that the task failed on:

Hi all:

PXE server:win2008    (no dhcp server)

DHCP server:Cisco switch 6509

Objective: 1、 new computer operating system 300 remote push windows 7 enterprise edition.

               2、 software silent installation push.

Question:1 、 I want to know a new computer operating system 300 remote push windows 7 enterprise edition steps, I was a beginner, thank you.

2 、What are the available software can be exe to msi? I've used many of them failed, for example: exetomsi so on.

3、 In accordance with the official document production system image when you need to get the client DHCP address, but winPE address acquisition failed. But after our other clients into the operating system is windows 7 operating system via DHCP to obtain addresses. What causes it? Please advice, thank you.

PXE server must be configured on the DHCP services? Our company has other network DHCP server, so use DHCP service on the other DHCP server instead of PXE server, the client can provide services?

The current problem I encountered is that there are other network DHCP server, but no DHCP service on a PXE server, this time, the client can not obtain an IP address. What causes it?

DS 6.9 SP6 building Surface Pro

I need a solution

I would like to PXE a sufrace, but I don't have the specific network adapter so I don't think that is possible.  So my other option is to use a USB boot drive, using a iso created boot image from the DS.  I know (pretty sure) that the USB drive has to be FAT32 for the Surface to be able to boot to it, but I am unable to get it to boot to the drive or the USB WinPE pxe thing.

Has anyone else had any luck using the DS to build a Surface?

Thanks,
